This cherry platter reminds me of both a boat and a skateboard - I love the subtle curves of the profile from above and from the side. With an axe, adze and gouges, I hand-carved this from a 22” cherry log while I was working in Maine. Sushi, sauteed asparagus, and wild edibles all await a ride on this plate. A handmade vessel for a handmade meal.
